organize necklaces, check!

My necklaces were a mess. A huge, gigantic mess. I never wore them because they were annoying to look through. I searched Google for images, browsed Pinterest and numerous blogs for ideas, and searched thrift stores for something to "upcycle"into a necklace rack. Nothing pleased me.

I had a few of these shelves lying around, (picked them up at Target on clearance) and figured it was the best I could work with.  

Here is a quick little "photo tutorial" on how I turned the shelf into a necklace rack.

Done! Glad I can check that off my to-do list.

Super Easy Bags

I'm trying to kill my fabric stash.

Well at least trim it down to fabric I really want to use. This "cinch bag" tutorial  popped up on Pinterest and it looked to be fairly simple and quick to make. I could have put some extra effort out and added a zipper and maybe some interior pockets, but 'eh didn't feel like it. The bag is fairly deep (mine varied in size depending on what fabric I had in my stash) and you could always cinch it up more to keep stuff in.

Also, yay for discovering new ways to edit photos in Picasa. Fun!
